Extreme Missionary Adventures is a non-profit faith based organization, whose ministry is short term mission trips. XMA recruits individuals stateside to then serve on week long missions internationally. Their goal is to spread the news about God’s plan to remote areas of the world.
Over the past ten years they have established relationships with nationals in Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Slovenia, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Through this partnership with native believers XMA builds churches, distributes humanitarian aid, offers medical services, and builds relationships with the locals in an effort to share with them an eternal love through Christ.
The “extreme” part of XMA is found in that in order to reach unreached and unengaged people groups one has to be willing to go to the “extreme.” These people groups are often times in remote, mountainous villages in conditions American’s cannot even fathom.
There are times when a team of volunteers will encounter a village that does not have a single outhouse or much less running water. Through XMA’s efforts these villages will be taught proper hygiene and how to avoid certain illnesses.
